Receiving SMS Messages

You can conveniently receive SMS messages using your BestSMS account through various methods:

1. Via Your Dashboard Login:

  • Inbound SMS messages are logged in your dashboard under [Data] -> [Received].
  • From here, you can:
    • Export a list of received SMS messages.
    • Add or remove contacts from your Address Book.
    • Send messages back to the sender's mobile phone.

2. Via Email:

  • Configure your account to send you an email notification each time an SMS message is received.
  • This notification can include:
    • Sender's mobile number.
    • Contact information (if available).
    • Previous message sent to the mobile (if a reply).

3. Via API (Webhook or Poll):

  • Configure the API to send a webhook upon receiving an SMS message (see REST API Webhook).
  • Alternatively, you can poll for received SMS messages (see REST API Poll).

Services Supporting SMS Receiving:

a. Standard SMS Service:

  • With standard SMS services, you can receive replies.
  • For instance, when you send a message to a mobile phone, the recipient can reply to it.

b. Dedicated Number & Virtual Mobile Number Services:

  • Utilise dedicated number or virtual mobile number services, where you are assigned your own dedicated number.
  • Mobile users can send texts to this number at any time, not necessarily as a reply.
  • Any messages you send will appear to come from this number.

By leveraging these methods and services, you can efficiently manage and respond to incoming SMS messages using your BestSMS account.
