When sending SMS messages via BestSMS, understanding the delivery result codes is crucial for interpreting the status of your messages. These codes provide insight into whether your message was successfully delivered, failed, or is still pending. Below is a guide to the various SMS delivery result codes and what they mean.

Success Codes

  • delivered

    • The SMS was received successfully by the recipient's mobile phone.
    • Chargeable? Yes
    • Notification Options: Dashboard, Email, Webhook, GET Poll

  • SentOK

    • The SMS was received successfully by the recipient's mobile phone.
    • Chargeable? Yes
    • Notification Options: Dashboard, Email, Webhook, GET Poll

  • delivered-to-network

    • The SMS was received successfully by the recipient’s network/carrier but has not been acknowledged by the mobile device (the mobile may be off or out of coverage).
    • Chargeable? Yes
    • Notification Options: Dashboard, Email, Webhook, GET Poll

  • Control Deleted

    • The SMS sending was aborted by a user, but it is marked as a success for reporting purposes.
    • Chargeable? No

Failure Codes

  • Bad Number

    • The SMS was submitted to the mobile carrier, but the carrier responded, indicating the mobile number is not in use.
    • Chargeable? Yes

  • Destination is blacklisted

    • The mobile number has opted out of receiving your texts and is on your blacklist (refer to Unsubscribes).

    • The SMS contains a URL that is not on our phishing whitelist (refer to Preventing Phishing).

    • An internal error within the BestSMS system; contact BestSMS Support for assistance.
    • Chargeable? No

  • Invalid Mobile Number (RP-Max)

    • The mobile number is invalid because it has too many digits for the supplied network/carrier.
    • Chargeable? No

  • Invalid Mobile Number (RP-Min)

    • The mobile number is invalid because it does not have enough digits for the supplied network/carrier.
    • Chargeable? No

  • Rejected-06-Invalid Mobile Number

    • The mobile number is invalid because it belongs to an unused mobile number range.
    • Chargeable? No

  • Rejected-07-Invalid Number

    • The mobile number is invalid because the number range is not used for mobile services.
    • Chargeable? No

  • Pending

    • The message is currently being processed and is awaiting a delivery result.
